Becon, Inc. is a dedicated supporter of Lea's Foundation for Leukemia Research, Inc.
In 1992, the sister of George Economos (CEO) and Maria Economos (Treasurer) succumbed after a lengthy battle with leukemia. Lea was also the daughter of our founder Michael Economos and his wife Bess.
In honor of Lea, the Economos family established Lea's Foundation in 1998 to fund research into the causes of and cures for leukemia and its related cancers of lymphoma, Hodgkin's lymphoma, and myeloma — and to provide limited financial assistance to people who battle these diseases.
